My Chiropractic Story
I grew up in an Airforce family and rarely lived in one place longer than a few years. My father's last station was at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. At that time I was in my last two years in high school. During these years I became very involved in the ancient martial art Kung Fu. After I graduated I became the lead instructor in the school. My continued training in Kung Fu involved the study of anatomy. This turned out to be the beginning of an ongoing fascination with the human body.
A few years later one of my former Kung Fu students asked me if I would like to work for his engineering firm. Within the first few months of working there I hurt my back while lifting a thirty pound piece of concrete. My boss was an avid fan of chiropractic, so he sent me to his chiropractor to be checked. This was my first experience with a chiropractor and was amazed at how rapidly it worked. I was also surprised that a chronic shoulder problem got better under the chiropractor's care.
It didn't take long for me to become an avid fan as well and I soon decided that chiropractic was my calling. I began college in northern Virginia in 1982 and finally graduated from Life College of Chiropractic in Marietta Georgia in 1990.
In 1991 I purchased a small practice in Chatsworth at which time my former wife Carol-Lee, our young daughter Christina, and I became proud members of the Chatsworth community. Our practice grew rapidly and became one of the largest chiropractic practices in North West Georgia.
A lot has happened over the 20 years we have been here. Christina has grown to be a very intelligent and capable young woman who is studying for her Masters degree in Ecology at UGA. She is engaged to be married to Drew Neighbors. While Carol-Lee and I are now divorced, we still co-own LifeTouch Chiropractic L.L.C. and enjoy working together to continue providing quality health care to our community.
